Reset [2020]
Following Martha’s life from her diagnosis through the eyes of her family, Reset sees the four women who play Martha across different ages in In Transit occupy new roles, revealed as the people close to Martha as her condition progresses: her Daughter, Carer and GP.
A series of vignettes follow the women as their lives intersect, revealing the changing nature of Martha's relationships to others, her surroundings and herself. As the work unfolds and Martha’s world shrinks, the environments in which the work takes place, and the threads of narrative, appear to shift and dissolve. Assembled by an algorithm, the film never manifests the same way twice. Reset has been exhibited at Martha [Alzheimer's Machine III] at Wigan STEAM in May-July 2019, Pineapple Black in Middlesbrough in August-September 2019 and Martha [Alzheimer's Machine III] at Shieldfield Art Works in March 2020.
