My Channel 4 Random Acts film In a State of [Movement against Resistance] goes live today.
It's been a year and a half since I started working on the film, which explores the fear, tension and anxiety associated with hospital environments. Unfolding in a surreal institutional setting, it follows a patient trapped in a state of limbo as he fades in and out of consciousness, encountering evasive figures and uneasy situations.
I’d like to thank #RandomActsNorth, Tyneside Cinema and Channel 4 for supporting the film; my cameraman Matt Gathercole from True North; my excellent cast Dylan Barnes, Robin Tudge and Rene McBrearty; Jennifer Walton for her composition and to everyone who helped along the way.
It’s been a busy year since finishing the project, and the past few months have been spent scripting Martha [Alzheimer’s Machine III], a new series of video, photography and audio works that I'm looking forward to shooting in the summer.
